It seems like there isn’t anything veterinary medicine can’t offer to clients! CT Scan, MRI, transfusions, arterial lines, hemodialysis, etc. We now can offer it all to our clients and their pets! The advancement of medicine in our fields has provided some great opportunities for technicians to advance their skills.

I can still remember the thrill of putting in my first arterial line. Last year we started using species-specific albumin and I’m fairly certain that was the coolest thing since sliced bread. And, I have to admit, I’m jealous of the technicians who work with continuous renal replacement therapy. Our facility doesn’t have a CRRT machine yet, but there’s one not too far away and I’m super jealous! Without a doubt being a technician today is pretty fantastic because of all the skills we get to utilize. So, I have to ask, what is the coolest advanced technician skill/procedure you have performed? I’m eager to know!
